ghost Electricity

Ambient scent design for Ghost Electricity, an exhibition by photographer James Annesley atOff The Kerb, Collingwood, VIC, July, 2026.

Ghost Electricity captures ethereal impressions of the human form as a reflection on the transient nature of being. Shot on 35mm film using long exposure times, the ghost-like quality of the images was achieved entirely in camera, with no digital manipulation. Photographed outdoors, the series draws on its environment to evoke a wildness of texture and feeling, with model Albert bringing a charged energy to the work throughout.

Scent design

I created an ambient scent to accompany the series, drawn from Australian rosewood, northern sandalwood, lemon-scented gum, cade, geosmin and fragonia.
